De-cluttering Your Home? Throw Out These Items Now!

Unmatched Socks

For some bizarre reason, people believe that they should never give up when it comes to finding their missing socks! Everyone has a sock drawer with at least a handful of single socks that lost their partner somewhere along the way, and these non-missing solo socks tend to stay around a lot longer than needed. Its pointless…chances are if it been months it’s not coming back. The only reason to hold on to them is if you have some genius crafty idea that you can use them for.

Old Medication

More times than not, we tend to hold onto things out of fear that one day we might need that exact item at that very moment. A great example is not throwing out medication. If you can make one recommendation that you should follow, frequently check the expectation dates on your medication. If you’re unsure of how to dispose of them- ask your doctor!

Damaged Dishes

Keeping chipped dishes and mugs are a definite no-no! In case you didn’t know, a small chip may not seem like a problem, but over time, water can soak into the plate with every wash, leading to nasty bacteria growth. Sounds gross, right? It’s not only taking up space in your kitchen but can also save you a trip to the ER.

Old Art Supplies

Please, if you’re truly looking to declutter your home and keep it organized. Do not keep old art supplies around because you think that one day you may just use them! You should only hold on to supplies that you know you’ll definitely need. The last thing you want to a drawer full of old art supplies.

Outdated Electronics and Accessories

There’s no doubt you have a few outdated or nonfunctioning electronics lying around somewhere in your house. If they can’t be donated, try to figure out the best way for them to be recycled. They’re simply collecting dust and taking up necessary space. And while you’re at it ditch all the old cables that you don’t need or no longer work!
