Asking for help
Ava and Leah turned to their 1.5 million followers to help them find a match for their father – a long shot, but their best hope for a cure. “We can spread the word to so many people about how easy it is to see if you’re a match and how you can help,” says Kevin. The twins, who are helping with bone marrow campaigns sponsored by DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow donor center, are happy that they – and their fans – can do their part. Beautiful and inspiring use of social media for good!

The Speed of a Transplant
“If he has a transplant, the cancer will go away faster,” says Ava. Leah adds: “People are so kind to want to help my dad. The more people who get tested, the better. “The family says that even if they don’t find a match for Kevin, they know they can help some of the other 12,000 people who urgently need bone marrow transplants. The simple test to find out if you’re a match is a cheek swab, and the actual procedure, if you end up matching, is painless. Let’s raise awareness and get tested!
