“If you check the system, you’ll see that this seat is assigned to me,” Cora said firmly, extending her passport toward the flight attendant. “Please, take it and verify for yourself.” The flight attendant, however, dismissed her with a sharp tone. “Do you have any idea how long that would take?” she replied curtly. “You need to leave—now.”

Cora handed her passport to a different flight attendant, one who accepted it without a hint of disdain. The first, clearly irritated, shot a sharp glare at her colleague, who responded with a faint, apologetic shrug as if to say, “What else could I have done?”
