Finally A Break
Later, enjoying a respite from the bustle, we took a stroll in the hotel’s gardens. We located a peaceful bench and sat there, just the two of us, to see the night sky. “This is good,” Jake said contentedly. We had the impression that we were alone once more for a while. The night air echoed softly with our laughing, making this moment surprisingly lovely.

Finally A Break
Familiar Voice
A voice that was all too familiar suddenly appeared behind us. You’re out here, but why? Karen’s eyes narrowed as she called. She walked over, looking a little breathless, and Jake and I looked at each other. I continued to pretend that we were innocent and said, “Sorry, we needed fresh air.” Although she appeared somewhat placated, I could tell she was still investigating. We had a casual conversation, pretending nothing was wrong.
