A loud knock came in the middle of the game. We paused, thinking it was Karen. But as we opened the door, we discovered another bottle of wine and more room service! With an inquisitive grin, the server said, “Congratulations of the manager.” As soon as they were gone, Jake started laughing. Our hoax appeared to be getting more attention than we had expected. The brief disruption served as a reminder to savor every moment of this unique evening.

We opened the new bottle and went back to our cozy and exciting hideout. In the middle of the hotel’s many surprises, it seemed like a little adventure. “This night will live in our memories forever, won’t it?” Jake held up his drink and made a lighthearted remark. I smiled agreeably as I clinked mine against his. We had no idea that the tension was simmering beyond our door. Nevertheless, we agreed to cherish any tranquility we discovered in these disturbances.
