Calming Sarah
Jane tried to reassure Sarah, but the air was heavy with unspoken fears. “Everything will be fine,” she said, pulling Sarah tighter against her. The once ordinary waiting room now resembled a chamber full of tension. “What do you think they’re up to, Mom?” Sarah asked again, her childlike innocence making Jane’s heart clench. “They’re just making sure your find is healthy,” Jane replied, hoping that her words would provide at least a small measure of comfort.

with the suggestion to leave
Tom, restless and worried, suggested that they should leave, but Jane insisted on staying. “We can’t just leave now, they need to finish the investigation,” she argued. Sarah looked back and forth between her parents, sensing the growing tension. “But what if there really is something wrong?” replied Tom, his voice betraying a hint of impatience. “Then they’ll tell us what to do,” Jane replied firmly. Reluctantly, Tom sat down again, his frustration clear but overlaid with a resigned acceptance. At that moment, they heard footsteps approaching.
