Emily explained that although the DNA results were inconclusive, they pointed to a very ancient species. “We found markers that suggest something prehistoric,” she continued, and Tom’s eyes widened. “Are you saying it’s prehistoric?” he asked. Emily hesitated. “It’s a possibility, but we’re not sure yet,” she replied. Jane followed up anxiously, “What should we do next?” Emily advised patience and further testing, stressing that they needed more evidence before jumping to conclusions. This only made the mystery surrounding the creature more unsettling.

Emily expressed fears that the creature could pose unknown dangers. “Given what we’ve found, it could be dangerous,” she warned. Sarah’s eyes filled with tears and she clung to Jane. “But it hasn’t hurt anyone!” she protested. Emily sighed, her expression softening. “We just want to be careful,” she said gently. Jane nodded, understanding the need for caution, but the realization that her new discovery could potentially be dangerous added an unexpected layer of anxiety.
