Dr. Lewis reassured the family by explaining that the measures were for their safety as well as the creature’s. “We need to understand her fully before we make any decisions,” he said in a calm but serious voice. Jane nodded, although the worry in her eyes remained unmistakable. Sarah wiped her tears and tried to be brave. “How long will it take?” asked Tom. Dr. Lewis sighed, “A few days maybe, we need to run thorough tests.” The family could only wait, their hearts heavy with worry.
