Sarah’s pride
Sarah missed her friend, but was also proud to have discovered something so significant. “You’ve done something amazing, sweetie,” Jane said to her one evening, to which Sarah smiled despite her sadness and felt a small sense of accomplishment. She only hoped it was happy, and the family felt pride in the part they had played in this incredible discovery. Knowing that the cub was safe and contributing to science gave them a shared sense of purpose.
