Among her best-known songs are “Wyszłam za mąż, zaraz wracam” and “My heart is a musician,” which became a permanent part of Polish music history. After a period of hiatus from her artistic life, she returned to the stage in 2021, including at the Ladies’ Jazz Festival in Gdynia. In her private life, she was linked to Ryszard Sibilski, with whom she formed a long-term relationship until his death.

Barbara Brylska is one of the icons of Polish cinema, whose career was shaped by her participation in outstanding productions such as “Pan Wołodyjowski” and “Faraon,” both directed by Jerzy Kawalerowicz. Thanks to these roles, she gained great recognition and established herself as one of the most important stars of postwar cinema. After years of intense artistic work, she decided to gradually withdraw from public life. Her last film appearance was in 2009 in a production of “Love on the Catwalk,” after which she focused on her private life. Although she continued to receive professional offers, she opted for peace and privacy, away from the film world. Her marriage to Ludwik Kosmala brought her stability and a sense of fulfillment, and she now leads a quiet life away from media publicity.
