As he stood there anticipating the arrival of fellow officers, Turner’s thoughts moved rapidly from one possibility to another, each more troubling than the last. He needed clarity, and he needed it immediately. Maintaining a firm stance, he issued a direct command. “Both of you, step out of the vehicle,” he ordered, his tone sharp and unquestionable. After a brief hesitation, the doors unlocked with a mechanical click, and the two men slowly emerged. Their movements were cautious, almost reluctant, as though each step carried weight. Turner positioned them carefully along the roadside, keeping enough distance to maintain control while ensuring neither could make a sudden move. His eyes remained alert, tracking every shift in posture and expression. The tension between them was nearly visible, hanging in the air like a charged current ready to spark.

Meanwhile, the stranger stood slightly apart, arms folded tightly across his chest as though trying to shield himself. His eyes scanned the surroundings repeatedly, restless and wary.
