Saving a burned pot
Many people have burned the bottom of a pot while inadvertently cooking. It can be a nightmare to clean up. Fortunately, you can easily save a burned pot with baking soda and water. Sprinkle plenty of baking soda on the bottom of the pot and then add enough water to cover the burned parts. Empty the pot as usual and bring the mixture to a boil. If stubborn stains remain, use a scouring pad with a little washing up liquid and then gently remove the burnt remains.

Putting Out Oil and Grease Fires
Interestingly, baking soda is found in some fire extinguishers. These are called dry chemical fire extinguishers and are used to put out oil, grease and electrical fires. The heat causes the baking soda to turn into carbon dioxide, which extinguishes and extinguishes the fire. This means that baking soda can be used to smother small oil and grease flames. But don’t expect baking soda to put out larger fires. Larger fires can counteract the effects of baking soda by absorbing more oxygen.
