When your dog squints or blinks, it usually indicates that he wants to catch your attention in order to spend some quality time with you. This could be one of the most perplexing behaviors that dogs will exhibit. After all, people almost seldom do this. So, what is the deal? You’ve probably heard your dog-owning friends say, “Can you imagine if people greeted each other like that?” in reference to dogs’ butt-sniffing. There’s certainly a reason for this; because a dog’s sense of smell is at least 10,000 times more sensitive than a human’s, they use their nose to learn about their environment. Dogs sniff each other’s buttocks to learn about their gender, reproductive status, temperament, food, and other characteristics.
