Jan and Phong Lan Hofer – 6 years
Jan Hofer was the defining face of “Tagesschau” for many decades. He presented the ARD news program almost every evening and guided his audience through the show. Jan is now 70 years old and recently went into well-deserved retirement. He is enjoying his retirement with his current wife Phong Lan, whom he married six years ago. Jan already has three grown-up children from previous relationships, and together with his partner they have a son. His younger wife and six-year-old son probably still keep him pretty fit: in 2021, he will appear as a contestant on “Let’s Dance”. He’s pretty sporty at his age!

Petra Gerster and Christian Nürnberger – 39 years
Petra Gerster originally studied several languages with the aim of becoming a teacher – but things turned out differently. She decided against a career as a teacher and, after a few small student jobs at WDR, preferred to become a journalist. She is particularly well known for her commitment to women’s issues. She presented “ML Mona Lisa”, the first German women’s magazine with a feminist slant. Recently, she has become notable for consistently gendering her presenting. She has also published several books, both as an author and as an editor. She has usually been supported by her husband Christian Nürnberger, who is a recognized publicist. The two met almost 40 years ago through a newspaper advertisement.
