Vacation Chat
Over the weekend, surrounded by the familiar family bustle, I found myself talking excitedly about a friend’s recent vacation. “Can you imagine just taking off and not worrying about a thing?” I said casually, but they barely seemed to register it. Still, I felt I was planting a seed. Someday soon, they’d feel my absence keenly, and maybe that offhand comment would echo louder than they expected. I kept my secret close, smiling quietly to myself.

Lisa’s Unknowing Approval
Hearing my talk of a vacation, Lisa chuckled softly and said, “You deserve a rest, Mom,” unaware just how close that idea was to coming true. Her words were casual, like any other, but somehow felt perfectly fitting in that moment. The seeds were being quietly planted, though she didn’t realize it yet. I folded her comment away in my mind, letting it settle as another part of my plan quietly took root and began to grow.
