Not buying it
Michael finally offered an explanation, though it sounded evasive. “It’s not what you think. We’re just selling clothes,” he said, attempting to downplay the situation. But Officer Jack was unconvinced. If their activities were truly harmless, why had they fled the factory so frantically? Why operate in a place so hidden and abandoned, where nobody could witness them? Jack’s instincts screamed that there was more to the story, that Michael was holding back a critical piece of the truth.

He had enough
After repeated attempts to get Michael to be forthcoming, Officer Jack reached the limit of his patience. He placed Michael under arrest, despite the man’s protests that he wasn’t doing anything illegal. Michael tried to reason, tried to explain himself, but it was futile. The ride to the station was quiet, filled only with the hum of the engine and Jack’s thoughts swirling about what secrets Michael might finally reveal.
