The four of them sat in stunned silence, struggling to make sense of what had happened. Clara’s mind raced, searching for any clue she might have missed. Her mother stared at the floor, and her father clenched his fists in frustration. “It doesn’t make any sense,” Clara finally said, breaking the heavy quiet. Her parents nodded in agreement, but no one had answers, and the room remained thick with confusion and disbelief.

Clara’s mother pointed out that, despite everything, Liam’s smile had seemed forced and unhappy. “Did you notice how fake his smile was?” she asked Clara. “I did,” her father agreed. “He didn’t look happy at all.” Clara frowned, replaying the events in her mind. “I thought it was just me,” she admitted. “But why go through with it if he wasn’t happy?” They exchanged puzzled glances, the mystery only growing deeper.
