The tranquillity of the night was abruptly interrupted when Mark and Erika awoke to the disturbing sound of someone trying to force their way into the house. Adrenaline pumping, Mark quickly headed for the source of the noise, while Erika, with trembling hands, dialed 112. Outside, a shadowy figure moved by the window, unaware that it had already been noticed.
