Exhaustion sets in
Exhaustion took hold of Ethan as he struggled against the waves, his muscles burning from swimming. He knew he had to find the boat quickly, or his survival would be compromised. “I can’t go on like this,” he gasped, his breathing getting weaker and weaker, each movement becoming an unbearable effort. Each kick seemed to weigh tons, as if it were pulling him to the bottom of the ocean. He turned over in the water, his eyes desperately searching for any sign of rescue. “I can’t give up,” he muttered, forcing himself to keep going despite the overwhelming fatigue that threatened to paralyze him.

Far from the Reef
Realizing that he was far from the coral reef, Ethan was confronted with the harsh reality that he was in the vast open ocean. The coral formations and marine life that once served as landmarks had completely disappeared. “How did I get so far away?” he wondered aloud, disbelief and panic beginning to take hold of him. Without a visible point of reference, his disorientation only increased. It was then that he had to accept the bitter fact: he was alone, with no solid ground under his feet and no clear path to safety.
